Intraspecific variation: Thalassiosira rotula

This is a collection of images taken from different seasonal clones of Thalassiosira rotula. It shows the degree of variation between clones and even within the same cultures. This does not only include the to be expected general differences in cell size but also differences in the number, location and position of strutted and labiate processes. Cells with morphological artifacts of the culturing process are also included.
